The following knowledgebase article describes the options which can be configured in the GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector group policy template.

The GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector can be deployed via Active Directory. Further information how to install the GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector via Active Directory can be found in the GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector Manual (Section: Installing GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector > Installation Procedure)

In order to successfully deploy the GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector using Active Directory, you need to correctly configure the Group Policy Template. This contains the settings which are used during the GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector Installation.

Note: The GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector Group Policy Template can be found in the GFI MailArchiver installation directory at <\GFI\MailArchiver\Outlook\gfiapps.adm>

The following are the options which are available and configurable in the GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector Group Policy Template:

• (Required) GFI MailArchiver Server Location: Specifies the GFI MailArchiver Server URL to which Outlook clients should connect.

Note: The options below are available from GFI MailArchiver 6 SR3.

• (Optional) GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector Data Path Root: Specifies the root location where GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector should store configuration and local emails on the client machine.
  Default Value: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\GFI\MailArchiver<version>\
   
• (Optional) GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector days span: Only emails received within the last number of days (from present day) specified here will be accessible through GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector.
  Default Value: 365
   
• (Optional) GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector download batch size: GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector downloads emails in batches. In this property you can specify how many emails are synchronized at once. The higher the number more pressure is put on the GFI MailArchiver server.
  Default Value: 100
   
• (Optional) GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector connection timeout: Defines the timeout in milliseconds of any operation for accessing data from the GFI MailArchiver server.
  Default Value: 240000
