Backup software gives errors after GFI MailEssentials is installed?

If you are running Veritas Backup-Exec with the 'Open File Option' enabled it is possible that you encounter an error like "OFO: Unable to get minimum quiet time window for physical volume."

So as to overcome this issue you should do the following:

  1. Configure the backup software to exclude the GFI directories as speified in the knowledge base article: KBID001824
  2. Unless you have an issue which you are currently troubleshooting, disable debug in GFI MailEssentials. This is explained further in knowledgbase article: KBID001835
