Installing a virus scanner or backup software on the same machine running GFI MailEssentials

Anti-virus and backup software may cause GFI MailEssentials to malfunction. This occurs when such software denies access to certain files required by GFI MailEssentials. It is therefore advised to disable 3rd party anti-virus and backup software from scanning the following folders and subfolders:
GFI MailEssentials x86
- <..\Program Files\GFI\MailEssentials>
- <..\Program Files\Common Files\GFI>
- <..\Inetpub\mailroot> if GFI MailEssentials is installed on a gateway machine.
- <..\Program Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot> if GFI MailEssentials is installed on the same machine as Microsoft Exchange 2000/2003.
