Can GFI MailEssentials be installed in a cluster environment?

Yes, GFI MailEssentials can be installed in a cluster environment. However, only active\passive clusters are supported.
 
Installation procedure:

  1. Ensure that either an SMTP or an Exchange Resource exists.
  2. Install GFI MailEssentials in one of the Cluster machines in the shared hard drive.
  3. Stop the GFI Cluster resources and move the group where the Exchange/Smtp resource is included to the other node.
  4. Install GFI MailEssentials in the other Cluster machines to the same directory in the shared hard drive.
     

Note:
The GFI MailEssentials installation will detect the Cluster environment and will NOT restart the IIS services, since that may be detected as a failover by the Cluster. Therefore the services will have to be restarted manually for GFI MailEssentials to start functioning.
