Yes, GFI MailEssentials can be installed in a cluster environment. However, only active\passive clusters are supported.
Installation procedure:
- Ensure that either an SMTP or an Exchange Resource exists.
- Install GFI MailEssentials in one of the Cluster machines in the shared hard drive.
- Stop the GFI Cluster resources and move the group where the Exchange/Smtp resource is included to the other node.
- Install GFI MailEssentials in the other Cluster machines to the same directory in the shared hard drive.
Note:
The GFI MailEssentials installation will detect the Cluster environment and will NOT restart the IIS services, since that may be detected as a failover by the Cluster. Therefore the services will have to be restarted manually for GFI MailEssentials to start functioning.
